Spring Snow

Generally, I am not a fan of Winter. I don't like the inconvenience of snow. Although I do love some things about Winter. I love Christmas, winter photography, and fireplaces.

I am generally a fan of Spring because I know that Summer is only a few months away.

One thing I do not enjoy AT ALL is a huge blizzard in the middle of Spring!

All the snow was gone, it was nice and sunny and warm, you could see the buds on the trees, we had an Easter Egg Hunt outside... and then all of a sudden, we had a blizzard that knocked out the power for almost a full day and the internet for 3 days! The snow came on Tuesday night and we STILL have a yard full of it.

It did allow for some cute pictures though... so I guess it wasn't 100% horrible.

Steve has started an advertising business called Day Media Inc. He recently etched the logo onto a glass! It turned out really great!

Easter!

Since I can't be home for the traditional Easter egg hunt with my family, I decided to make my own Easter eggs!

I made a batch last week as a test. I decided they were a bit too big and that I am, for some reason, unable to smoothly dip things in chocolate. I did a bit of research and learned about tempering chocolate which I'll probably try next time.

I bought some foil candy wrappers at Bulk Barn and I think they look CUTE!

I'll be bringing them with me to Steve's family's house this weekend.

Steve loves them! I love them too, but I made this batch bite-sized because they're quite sweet.

Cake Balls and Geocaching

I love trying new recipes, especially desserts! Mom sent me the recipe for Cake Balls. I thought they would make a nice dessert for Sunday dinner with Steve's family.

Typically, they are coated in chocolate, however, I had a really hard time getting them to look perfect. I decided to drizzle them with chocolate instead. I think they turned out pretty great.

(I like Strawberries with my chocolate desserts!)

I have a new obsession: GEOCACHING!

Steve and I have found 2 caches so far. We're definitely beginners, but I've been loving it! It's just so exciting to find the treasure at the end of the search :) Even if it's just a piece of paper that you sign in order to tell future geocachers that you found it :)

I didn't think to take my camera on our first trip, and made sure to bring it on the next one.

This was our first time finding an actual container. The first time we went it was a 'micro cache' which means it's tiny with no room for 'stuff'. It was just a piece of paper. This is a bigger cache and had items in it to trade or look at and leave. Steve is examining it ...

Photography

I love taking pictures! Any time I make a yummy looking meal, I take a picture. Any time the dog is looking especially cute, I take a picture. It's so nice to be able to look back at those pictures later.

Gift-crafts

I LOVE making things. Crafts, food, the bed...

Therefore, I have two favourite websites: Martha Stewart and Kraft

The Kraft website is where I found the recipe for the fishcakes I mentioned a little while ago. I'm always looking at Kraft.ca to figure out what to make for supper. I usually look at a bunch of recipes and then come up with some sort of combination that is a brand new recipe. It's a lot of fun! Thankfully, Steve is willing to try anything!

I found two very cute ideas on MarthaStewart.com the other day and I was very excited that I had a chance to use them. Because it often happens that I see something that I would LOVE to try, but I have no one to give it to and no use for it myself.
